Hi, Laura, I am familiar with Polyface Farms, but I have never bought any of their meat. I don't eat meat that much any more...f you didn't find a partner for the bullk purchase, you should check the local farmers' markets. Iknow of at least two local farms that sell meat: Faith Farms and Brookview Farm. Then there is Fall Line Farms which is a new co-op that allows you to choose items from about 30 different local farmers. You should be able to google all of these!

Hi folks

I was wondering whether anyone in this group happens to buy from a regional, organic, pasture based farm called Polyface Farms (polyfaceyum.com and polyfacefarms.com)? I bough bulk beef from them last year, but it was ALOT of beef. I would like to buy bulk pork this year but was hoping to split the order with someone. If anyone is interested, please contact me.

Be sure an come to D-Hall for lunch for both February 17th & 18th. On the 17th, Tuesday, we are going to do another soup buffet with the bread bowls. It was so popular last month, we decided to do it even bigger this month. Also, on the 18th, Wednesday, we are doing our Annual Cereal Diggers. You can come and taste to vote on which cereals we should carry going forward.

See you then,
Jerry - D-Hall GM

Would love to see whole fruit popsicles. Currently I steal them from the freezer in our department, but I'm racking up a big debt to the person who stocks them.

It is Feast Season. Why is the Foodie group so quiet? What are you cooking for Thanksgiving?

Delete Post Manage Blog On September 29th 8:15 at Boatwright Cafe will be celebrating its 5 year anniversary! When we opened five years ago, it was on the heels of a hurricane that literally shut down campus- sending students home for about a week. We set up the cafe by flashlight, and by sheer determination, and a little trial by fire, we opened without fan fare to booming business that far exceeded any of our expectations. The University of Richmond was thirsty for a cafe on campus known for quality beverages, premium baked goods and a quick, reliable, and friendly staff that made coming back pretty hard to resist.

Over the years we've employed over 150 student employees, weathered many more power outages and winter storms, increased hours 4 times, retired an espresso machine due to increased volume, broke records for coffee sales per square foot, became the cafe that was open latest in the city, and made many, many friends across campus. I would like to thank my supervisors for letting me create the cafe the campus needed, my many student and off campus employees (past and present) for always taking my passion for excellent service and quality food to the next level, and the campus community for being the most loyal and vocal customers any business could want.

Instead of getting us wood or silverware, let us give you a present! Come by the cafe between noon and 8pm on September 29th for a free Spider Cider!

Spider Cider is hot apple cider mixed with caramel and cinnamon for the perfectly sweet and spicy balance that we all crave when the seasons are changing. This truly autumnal drink is made with real apple cider, made from apples grown in Virginia's Shenandoah Mountains.

We're celebrating five years of dedicated service to the University of Richmond
