Lockers Contact
Barbara Melton to rent a locker and combination lock. We ask that you do not bring your own lock. Rental fee is $2.00 per year.
Music Lab Access Booker Hall Room 113 houses the Music Technology Lab (known as the MuseLab). All music majors can use student ID cards to “swipe” into the lab between 7am and midnight, seven days a week. Ten Macintosh computer stations are available, as well as a laser printer, ‘net access, and plenty of music-related hardware and software. Prof. Ben Broening is the lab’s director, and a number of students assist in running the lab. If interested in becoming a tech lab assistant, see
Dr. Broening.
Instrument Rental The department owns eight guitars and a number of violins which are rented out on a first-come, first-served basis. The fee is $20.00 per semester and the rental can be arranged through
Barbara Melton in the music office. Professor Niethamer arranges for the rental of all band instruments.
Junior and Senior Recital Procedures Advising Freshmen music majors are assigned to faculty advisors by the
Academic Advising Resource Center. If your advisor is not a music faculty member, please consult with
the chair at your earliest convenience. All junior and senior music majors are assigned to the chair for advising. In addition, all full-time and part-time faculty are available for consultation regarding coursework, graduate schools, and other post-graduate opportunities. Other resources include the
Career Development Center. It's up to you to take advantage of the “people” resources here at Richmond!
Please be aware that the add-drop procedure within the Department of Music is the same as in other areas of the University; see the Registrar!s website for more information.
Accompanying and Accompanists Students seeking the help of student accompanists for junior or senior
recitals, reps, or other occasions should contact
Dr. Joanne Kong.
You need to be a member of Music to add comments!
